What founders get
- 60-day free trial of Pro. Extended from the standard 30 days — long enough to run a real job from estimate to billing and decide. Card required at signup. Auto-converts to discounted Pro on day 61 unless cancelled in-product.
- 50% off list pricing for 24 months. Applies to Pro paid seats, from the end of the trial. Annual billing on top saves another 18%. Field workers, subs, and clients are free for everyone — not part of the discount equation.
- No Sage throttling during the founder period. Founders are encouraged to use Sage hard and give us feedback on where it works and where it breaks. No "overage" framing or invoice line.
- Price lock. No price hikes during the 24-month window. After the window closes: 60-day notice and a 12-month phase-in (10% per quarter) to current list price.
- Direct line to the founder. A Slack Connect channel (or text thread, if you prefer) with Joe Meadows. No tickets, no queue. Functionally Enterprise-tier support at the Pro discounted price.
- First look at every shipping feature. Founders see the changelog two weeks before public release. Roadmap input is acted on, in writing.
What we ask for in return
REQUIRED
- One 30-minute call per month with the founder or head of product. Pre-scheduled, video, agenda set. No-show twice in a quarter ends the program.
- Permission to cite your company name in aggregate ("Tenon is used by 50 founding customers including X, Y, Z"). Not a testimonial — just the name.
- Bug reports filed in-product within five business days of encountering an issue.
REQUESTED (optional)
- A public case study by month 9. We do the writing; you sign off on every number. Customers who agree get an extra 12 months at 50% off (36 months total).
- A G2 or Capterra review at month 6 — in your own words, whatever rating you assign. $200 account credit when it posts.
- Referrals. Three paying referrals = year 3 at 50% off. Stacks with the case-study reward.
Who qualifies
The program is for contractors who want a real working partnership — not just a discount.
Hard criteria — all required
- General contractor, remodeller, custom home builder, or specialty contractor.
- $250K–$10M annual construction volume.
- North American (Canada or U.S.).
- At least one active project at signup.
- Currently uses QuickBooks, Buildertrend, BuildBook, CoConstruct, Procore, Excel/Sheets, or nothing systematic.
Who we say no to
- Customers wanting 50% off with no interest in monthly calls or case studies. The discount is not the offer; the partnership is.
- Anyone outside North America in this cohort.
- Enterprise GCs ($25M+). Different program, different scope.
How to join
- 1 Apply below. The form asks for company name, annual volume band, current tool stack, one active project, email, and phone. Card on file is required at this step — same as the standard trial. Card is not charged during the 60-day founding trial.
- 2 Joe reviews your application personally. Founders are reviewed for the first 50. Time from signup to first product use: under 24 hours.
- 3 Approved founders get a Slack Connect invite and a calendar link to book the first monthly call. The 60-day trial starts immediately.
